About the Shrine

Afrikan Heritage Shrine

Afrikan Heritage Shrine is a spiritual center dedicated to the preservation and practice of Akan ancestral wisdom. Located in Accra, Ghana, where rituals, healing, divination, and the deep veneration of ancestors come alive.

We uphold the sacred traditions passed down from our forebears through word, ritual, and spirit.

Our Spiritual Lineage

Our shrine is rooted in the Akan, Kukumba cosmology, honoring the divine forces that govern nature, destiny, and life. We follow the guidance of Nyame, Abosom, and Nananom Nsamanfo (ancestral spirits), who continue to walk beside us.

Nyame is the source of all being, the intelligence that drives the universe, the giver of soul (kra), and the origin of all order.

Nyame is not worshipped directly in everyday life because divine power is delegated to the abosom—spiritual forces that govern various aspects of nature and existence.

This tradition is not just a belief system — it is a way of life. We live in rhythm with the land, the moon, and the voices of our people who have passed on but remain with us in spirit.

Meet the Shrine Keeper

Bosomfo Nana Okwaa
Shrine Keeper | Spiritual Healer | Custodian of the Ancestors

I was called to this sacred path not by choice, but by destiny. Trained by elders and spirit-guided, my role is to serve as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. I have spent years studying and practicing:

  • Divination (e.g., cowrie shells, kola nut, oracles)
  • Herbal healing using sacred African plants
  • Ritual cleansing and protection ceremonies
  • Ancestor communication and spirit mediumship

My mission is to restore spiritual balance, awaken ancestral memory, and help others find healing and purpose through the sacred ways.

What Happens at the Shrine

  • Rituals and Offerings: Weekly and seasonal ceremonies for healing, protection, fertility, and community blessing.
  • Spiritual Consultations: Divination sessions to receive guidance from the spirits.
  • Healing Work: Use of African medicinal plants to treat spiritual, emotional, and physical conditions.
  • Initiation and Training: For those called to deepen their path or serve in the tradition.

Open to the Community

The shrine is open to all who seek guidance, connection, or healing — whether you are African-born, in the diaspora, or walking a spiritual path with reverence for African wisdom.

We welcome your spirit.

“When the ancestors are honored, the path is clear.”
